About the role
With the rapid growth of our organisation, GreenCollar is seeking a seasoned and innovative Commercial Manager to join the New Initiatives team on a permanent full-time basis.
In your role as Commercial Manager, you will report into the Head of Nature and work closely with the General Manager – New Initiatives to design, implement, and scale new approaches within the environmental markets sector. This includes but is not limited to, developing sales strategies and frameworks that include sector-specific environmental funds, bundled environmental market products and integrated environmental service delivery models.
The location for the role is flexible but with a preference for Sydney.
Your day to day responsibilities at GreenCollar will include:
- Facilitating the development of corporate partnerships
- Working with the Head of Nature and General Manager to identify and initiate innovative market-based opportunities and direct sales of environmental markets products with a focus on biodiversity, water and plastics
- Support the development and implementation of sophisticated sales strategies targeted at the development of novel commercial relationships between GreenCollar and private sector partners including supply-chain sustainability, investable products, demand-driven supply models and project development as a service.
- Relationship management – Ensure consistency and attention to detail to guide demand side relationships from inception through to successful sales/implementation
- Work with executives and senior managers to develop and grow commercial partnerships that set world-leading examples of corporate approaches to achieving nature-based targets.
- Provide communications and leadership to stakeholders as required by the Head of Nature and General Manager – New Initiatives
Skills and experience
- A tertiary qualification in environmental economics, finance, commerce, environmental science or similar
- Solid track-record in sophisticated sales, partnerships and innovative approaches to corporate sustainability
- Professional exposure to environmental markets
- Commercial performance analysis, reporting, negotiation and resolution
- Impact and outcomes focused individual – comfortable with monitoring and reporting against targets
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and the ability to manage a wide variety of stakeholders including executive level
- Ability to plan and prioritise work efficiently to deliver high quality outcomes within deadlines
- Superior work ethic with drive and passion for positive environmental outcomes
- Comfortable leading difficult conversations balancing the demands and needs of multiple parities of stakeholders
- Experience working with product/project management tools as well as with CRM systems
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams combining commercial, technical and scientific profiles in an agile environment
