Project Performance Manager/Lead

GreenCollar is Australia’s leading ecosystem services project developer and market investor, with over 200 projects spanning 5 million hectares of active conservation as well as a growing international portfolio of work targeting nature-based solutions in carbon abatement, biodiversity conservation, water security and plastics circularity. We work in partnership with farmers, graziers, traditional owners and other land managers to develop high quality, high integrity nature-based projects that deliver economic, environmental and social benefits.

About the role

As a key member of our Operations team, the Project Performance Manager/Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring GreenCollar’s natural capital projects are designed, managed, and delivered to create long-term environmental, agricultural, and economic value for our partners and their communities. This role is a permanent full-time position.

This is a hands-on, impact-driven role that involves working closely with peers and local partners to shape projects within their specific landscapes, monitor their progress over time, and continuously adapt them to maximise outcomes. You’ll be part of a collaborative, regionally focused portfolio team alongside on-ground managers, technical specialists, and project analysts — all committed to delivering lasting, real-world results.

The location for the role will either be in Sydney or Brisbane.

Day to day responsibilities at GreenCollar will include:

  • Establish, monitor and manage the natural capital performance of each project (performance relative to environmental and agricultural goals).
    • Project designs are established and adapted to current conditions, context, management and opportunity;
    • establish and implement clear monitoring plans to understand the current state, performance and trajectory of each project and project opportunity; and
    • report on performance and trajectory of projects at the project and portfolio level.
  • Establish, monitor and manage the commercial performance of each project (performance relative to commercial, financial, administrative and compliance goals and obligations).
    • Ensure project designs and performance requirements are met in line with the method they are developed under;
    • Reporting and forecasts for commercial and financial performance and outlook; and
    • Project milestones and reporting are completed and communicated to meet forecast and compliance obligations.
  • Work closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across GreenCollar which includes but is not limited to; portfolio team, business unit peers, project managers, landholders, pastoralists, land managers, regulator and auditors.
  • Travel to regional areas to visit projects and landholders, and to attend engagement meetings, workshops, and audits. You will also have the opportunity to represent GreenCollar at community field days, conferences, and other events sponsored by or involving GreenCollar.

Skills and experience

  • Track-record of managing and growing a portfolio of consistently high performing projects, programs, products, or assets
  • Ability to plan and prioritise work efficiently to deliver high quality outcomes within deadlines
  • Impact and outcomes focused individual – comfortable with monitoring and reporting against targets
  • Team player at heart – proven track record of successfully working within multidisciplinary teams combining commercial, technical and scientific profiles in an Agile environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and the ability to manage a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Thorough understanding of scientific concepts related to Earth and the environment
  • Working understanding of technical analysis in environmental sciences
  • Commercial performance analysis, reporting, negotiation and resolution
  • Proven relationship building and management skills and experience
  • Measurement of customer performance and health
  • Working understanding of complex long term contracts, legal frameworks and risk frameworks
  • Comfortable leading difficult conversations balancing the demands and needs of multiple parties
  • Experience working product/project management tools as well as with CRM systems
  • Superior work ethic with drive and passion for positive environmental outcomes
  • Travel to rural and regional areas to visit LHs and projects; capacity to travel periodically and independently
