Tristan is based in Cairns and travels widely throughout the Great Barrier Reef Water Quality catchments working with landholders and other key stakeholders to identify and establish Reef Credit and Carbon projects.
Tristan joined the Green Collar Water Quality team following a year travelling throughout Asia and Europe where he worked on various social projects and farms, including developing solar mini-grids for remote communities. He holds a Bachelor of Finance from La Trobe University and has over 10 years’ experience developing utility scale wind and solar farm projects throughout Australia. He has worked across the development lifecycle, from identifying and de-risking sites, landowner relations, contract development, negotiation and project development.
As a member of the Water Quality team, Tristan works closely with farmers and land managers to identify opportunities that recognise water quality improvements. He sees environmental markets as a way of achieving mutually beneficial outcomes for farmers, land managers and the environment whilst strengthening communities.
Tristan can trace his love of the land and environment to time spent on the family farm. He has an adventurous spirit, has travelled widely and enjoys connecting with people from all walks of life. When not on the road you can find him camping, hiking, horse riding or planning the next adventure.
