Your new role

With the rapid growth of our organisation, GreenCollar is seeking a seasoned and innovative Geospatial Lead to join our Operations team on a permanent full-time basis.

In your role as Geospatial Lead, you report into the Head of Portfolio, and work as a member of our multidisciplinary Portfolios teams.

You will work on the design, monitoring and performance management of a range of environmental projects – to deliver meaningful environmental, agricultural and economic outcomes. You will have a knack for tackling complex technical challenges and transforming them into actionable, impactful solutions.

The location for the role is flexible, with a preference for Sydney.

Your day to day responsibilities at GreenCollar will include:

  • Overseeing the implementation and continuous improvement of innovative Geospatial analysis techniques and solutions to ensure positive project outcomes
  • Solving complex environmental project challenges by employing a range of GIS interpretation techniques and software to analyse spatial and non spatial data
  • Creating high quality spatial outputs (maps, spatial data sets, etc.), leveraging data analysis and insights to support monitoring, reporting and overall project performance
  • Working collaboratively with your team to assist with the preparation of data, reports, presentations and/ or response to environmental project RFIs and audits
  • Leading the spatial design of environmental projects at different scales and across a variety of landscapes
  • Drafting, reviewing, and updating /maintaining best practices and Standard Operating Procedures with respect to geospatial workflows and deliverables

Your skills and experience

  • A tertiary qualification in remote sensing, geospatial science, GIS or physical science or similar with specific coursework or relevant work experience
  • 4+ years working as a Geospatial analyst/coordinator as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience overseeing the development and operationalisation of new geospatial/digital solutions to respond to specific organisational challenges and evolving requirements – working with multiple stakeholders to define and execute on the most adapted, scalable solution
  • Experience in managing and delivering end to end complex geospatial projects
  • Advanced knowledge and application of GIS softwares (e.g. ArcGIS) and image analysis tools (e.g. ENVI)
  • Proficiency in programming languages i.e. SQL,R, Python is a clear plus
  • Skilled at defining and analysing complex problems across various project settings, with a focus on achieving project outcomes
  • A team player who can also work autonomously with minimal guidance
  • Clear and effective communication (written and verbal) to inform, influence and impact both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong work ethic with drive and passion for positive environmental outcomes
