GreenCollar is Australia’s leading ecosystem services project developer and market investor, with over 200 projects spanning 5 million hectares of active conservation as well as a growing international portfolio of work targeting nature-based solutions in carbon abatement, biodiversity conservation, water security and plastics circularity. We aim to prove that the best way to achieve lasting environmental outcomes is to enable markets to direct long-term finance towards sustainable land management practices and ecosystem services.
We work in partnership with farmers, grazers, traditional owners and other land managers to develop high quality, high integrity nature-based projects that deliver economic, environmental and social benefits.
Background
GreenCollar’s grouped smallholder tree planting project in Malawi, being implemented by the charity Ripple Africa, will seek validation and verification under Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and Sustainable Development Verified Impact Standard (SD VISta). It will also seek to achieve the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)’s Forest Management certification for low-impact managed forest (SLIMF).
GreenCollar seeks administrative and technical support on smallholder tree planting project in Malawi to help assess, develop, and generate voluntary carbon credits and achieve the desired certifications.
The Contractor is a forestry expert based in Malawi and fluent in local languages.
