Our submissions to the Chubb Review (Independent Review of Australian Carbon Credits)

GreenCollar believes that regular reviews of Australia’s carbon markets system are an important part of delivering robust regulatory frameworks and outcomes of the highest integrity. In this light, we were pleased to have made a joint submission to the Chubb Review with Prof Andrew Macintosh, dated 11 August 2022 in addition to our own submission, dated 3 October 2022.

We have made them publicly available here.

We strongly support the intention of the review, and the view that all ACCUs and carbon accounting frameworks need to maintain a strong and credible reputation. With respect to the Emission Reduction Fund (ERF), this means ensuring methods are fit-for-purpose and regularly updated in response to new data, technology, information and shifting baselines.

By working collegiately across sectors, we believe Australia can continue to build an effective and world-leading carbon market that can help facilitate a timely transition to a low carbon economy and make ambitious emissions reduction targets possible.
