Remote Sensing & Geospatial Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Remote Sensing & Geospatial Research Scientist to build upon our R&D Remote Sensing Program. The ideal candidate will be an expert in 3D point cloud processing, vegetation classification, geospatial sampling design, and model validation. This role requires a dynamic individual capable of representing the company in technical working groups and collaborating closely with a team of remote sensing analysts and our GIS Developer to streamline processes, automations, and integrations.

This position offers the opportunity to lead cutting-edge research and development in GIS and remote sensing, work with a dynamic team, and significantly contribute to the field.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Development and implementation of advanced remote sensing and GIS methodologies
  • Expertise in processing and analysing 3D point clouds, vegetation classification, and geospatial sampling design
  • Validate models and methodologies to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Represent the company in public forums, technical working groups, and conferences
  • Work collaboratively with remote sensing analysts and GIS Developer to innovate and improve data processing and analysis workflows
  • Drive the integration of new technologies and methodologies into existing systems

What we’re looking for:

  • Advanced degree in Remote Sensing, Geospatial Sciences, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in 3D point cloud processing, vegetation classification, geospatial sampling, and model validation
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively and influence
  • Demonstrated experience in streamlining GIS and remote sensing processes and automations
