Rose Isle is a family run grazing operation near Louth in New South Wales. Garry and Samantha Mooring purchased the property from Garry’s parents in 1983 and now run sheep and cattle across the station while also regenerating close to 8,000ha of native vegetation.

Robin and Keryl Thorpe have run Lynwood, near Cobar in New South Wales, since 2006. The pair decided to partner with GreenCollar after attending a carbon farming seminar, appreciating that such projects would allow them to be kinder to the land while diversifying their income and reducing the need to rely so heavily on livestock.

Pauline and Barry Oliver now have three carbon projects across two properties. They are protecting and regenerating native forest in NSW, and have taken their learnings to a run-down property purchased more recently in WA.

Follow the Kulkyne Creek through NSW and you’ll eventually reach the northern block of Salt Lake Pastoral, a 38,358hectare a piece of land that the Barton family has leased since 1927. The Kulkyne is a valuable water source for the farm, but drought years have made it harder and harder to keep the land healthy and the vegetation resilient.

Located near Bourke in Western New South Wales, this project isn’t just regenerating native forest, it has also secured the future of the farm.

Richard and Shirley Wilson, along with their son Jed and his partner Stacey, took over Yancannia, in the Far West region of New South Wales, around nine years ago. As a result of drought, heavy domestic grazing and a large local kangaroo population, the plains on the Yancannia property had long been in poor condition.

In 2017, Ben and Paula Bartlett began a carbon project at Gardenvale near Wanaaring, New South Wales. Their aim was to manage the country for better environmental, economic and social outcomes. 

Once an overgrazed and degraded landscape, Lowan Station, near Cobar in New South Wales, has transformed under the management of John and Donna Cutting into a thriving sheep and cattle enterprise that also boasts a biodiverse and sustainable forest.

On the edge of the Cobar Peneplain around 50km west of Cobar, Boonora Downs has been home to Heath and Natalie Cull since 2009. The Culls run a successful grazing enterprise on the land, which is dominated by undulating mulga ridges with large areas of creek and flood country.
